BRINGIN' EM' HOME

Contributed by tjmontanagirl on Tuesday, 20th April 2010 @ 09:57:49 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

The rustle of the angry hooves runnin through my mind all night
Just achin for me to wake up and get ready for the early morning fight
The old rooster crows to the sun at the crack of dawn
And Im up and dressed and outta bed before the lights are on
down the stairs and out the door I stumble
ignoring my usual mornin cup of coffee with a grumble
the saddle it sits there on fence post lookin pretty
waitin to be thrown upon little Pippy
the ground below her legs is goin at the speed of light
and all I can do is sit back and hold tight
I can feel every move my little gal makes
And the longer it takes to get there the more I anticipate
The blazin sun comes rollin up through the mountain range
And all I see is black cows munchin the frost covered sage
I head in for the kill roundin up the big gals and some
Waitin for em to group up so we can get out on the run
The angry bull throws his head and paws at the frozen ground
I just laugh out loud and say come on boy settle down
The formation is made as we head out of the hilly valley
Destination home to the corral right down cattle alley
The cattle they frolic through the grassy covered meadow
And as for little Pippy I can barely keep her head up
The mornin scoots by just like a short country tune
And as for me Im hungry and I wanna get back to eat that steak before noon

I like how this poem tells a story, and it was very nicely written. Keep on writing girl, never give up your love to write no matter what comes your way. For there are good poems and there are bad every one gets 'em. This one was very good though.
