Untitled

Once upon a time there was a girl and a boy
But this is not a fairytale,
Not a happily ever after
She too young and he soon to move away
Yet they fell for eachother

His eyes never left her
And his mind was always at her side
Body and soul unite
Heart and heart grow beyond
They were partners of the deepest kind
"Soul mates," they said, "forever"

Every night was a late night adventure
3am phone calls,
Wanting to be by eachothers side

But this is not a fairytale
Not a happily ever after
She too young and he soon to move away
Yet they fell for eachother

One too-long gaze and someone must've noticed
Because the rumors began to spread.
Her loved ones cast disapproving eyes
And you must remember, she was young.
For the seed of doubt took root

"Don't you want to be special?" they asked
And so the seed flourished
He was leaving, she would stay
And so she told him "I dont love you anymore"

This is not a fairytale,
Not a happily ever after
She too young and he soon to move away
Yet they fell for eachother

For a time, I felt great
The rumors faded away
But with each oncoming day I hold more regret
For pushing you away

Because I know in my core
That i still love you
Everytime my phone rings , i pray its you.
Everytime i turn the corner, i hope your there.
I dream of you
And I like to think that you dream of me too
Eventhough i know you dont

When i said those words to you
It took me a while,
But i realized somethings missing
A piece of me broke off inside you
As you walked away,
Hiding your tears from me.

"I'm sorry, i love you" my eyes plead
But body and soul say differently
I want you back
I miss you already
But im afraid its too late
I hope when you return home in some years
You'll realize that you miss me too
Then we can finally say "I love you."

Excruciatingly sad. Mistake and regret are the most vile
words in the English language. Only in looking back to
we truly see with any clarity. Hopefully the story becomes
the fairy-tale that escapes it now.

Nicely done. -- Achelois
