i hug my knees at night and my toes curl in the cold,
the sheets lay tossed away at the side,
and my eyes stay closed,
i whisper your name with my cold, cold breath,
it cuts through the silence like a dagger,
piercing through my heart,
my hair lies upon my shoulders,
breasts pressed against my knees,
oh if you could see me now your fingers would tremble,
and your hand would outstretch,
my lips are parted to sing a silent song,
the lord can only hear,
grief and misery are the melody,
my hearts rhythm the percussion,
my face now pressed into the pillow,
my exposed body lying on its stomach,
eyes shut tight, tears streaming down,
i don't sob and my body doesn't tremble,
the tears don't come from my eyes,
from my heart and my soul,
i scream
i scream
i scream
love me.
