Wishing On Stars

Emptiness, so cruel and vast.
It sucks me in each night.
How long will this feeling last?
How long until theres light?
I gaze at stars, and wish on some,
In hopes my wish comes true.
They never do, not even one.
Im wishing still, for you.
Its you I want, its you I need.
And still your unaware.
I wonder if youll ever see,
I wonder if youll care.
I wish that I could know for sure,
If you might feel the same.
I wish I knew what lies in store,
I wish and sometimes pray.
Nothing ever seems to work.
My dreams have turned to doubts.
Every night my eyes still hurt,
While all my tears come out.
They say the sun can truly blind.
To me the stars are worse.
Every wish Ive made in life,
They seem to not be heard.
Maybe Im just wasting time,
And wishes dont come true.
Even though, I cant deny,
I wish, still now, for you.

Wishing upon stars can be such a hopeful exercise.
There is a gorgeous longing, however painful, trapped
inside these lines. Devastatingly beautiful.
