The time has come for us my love
to say this last good bye
No angry words or unkind thoughts
Forgiveness not denied.
But, I could not have changed a thing
of when I had to go
the time could have not been more wrong
how could I've ever known.
Would you have never kissed my lips
or looked into my eyes
nor maybe said that first hello
to say this last good bye
Was much too soon that I did leave
with me you will agree
But, no more pain or suffering
forever ne'er to see
so grieve for me just one more day
the one that's yet to be
then life goes on, your grieving done
a smile my memory
I'll walk with you in darkest times
I'll comfort all your fears
My presence ever, oh so close
to dry that one last tear
so when I look from where I am
from where I now abide
maybe just a short farewell
We'll never say good bye.
