Darkness to Light

When will this void of darkness, give way to beauty light
as the dawning of the sun, pushes back the black of night
to the yearning of the souls, that have gone and yet to go
for the longing, with no purpose ..... the sunlight be thy foe
The dawning spreads out o'r them, as a blanket of pure white
in the light they cannot hide, from what comes ... not yet in sight
cries a longing, darkness hide me, be my strength .... be my shield
if you don't embrace this morning, to this void forever yield
In what comes now from this daybreak, behold this light from up above
in the warmth and gracious beauty, in the wisdom of His love
days unfold in one short vision, from the dawning to the night
never pausing ever waning, 'til thy wounded soul takes flight
For this gift is now before thee, in thy hands and arms embrace
and the light will rent this blackened veil, illuminate ...... by holy grace
Do not fear what comes before thee, remember not, thy darkened past
hold this day as if forever, the here and now .... it will not last.
