Medium

The beauty of death is unimaginable.
It is not the end, not even a new beginning,
It is a progression in our own evolution.
We scoff at mediums but there are those that know,
Few in number but majestic in power.
Those who do not expose their gift but remain silent.
To find one and sit before them is to be humble,
For the power emanates from them and into your body,
Your psyche, your very essence. Your whole emotions,
Dissembled, uncontrollable, you are in awe and afraid.
After consultation with a true visionary you cannot remember,
Everything is blank but it has not been a waste of time.
No-one should know their destiny but to have experienced it,
Even to have that erased from your memory is surely ultimate,
Since you have experienced life and death yet still live on.
You may believe that knowledge of the future is advantageous
But there are times when knowledge is a bad thing to know.

Interesting poem. The question about whether it is better to know your fate or not is a subject many of us ponder. As for the description of mediums, your imagery was once again spot on. I especially liked this excerpt, " For the power emanates from them and into your body, your psyche, your very essence. Your whole emotions, dissembled, uncontrollable, you are in awe and afraid." Yet another powerful write from you Al. Thanks for sharing with the rest of us. ;)

But there are those that know, you are right and have expressed eloquently thoughts surrounding future and end of life, knowledge about yourself can empower you for the future its having the wisdom to discern, great write
