I have always had a fear, the fear of growing old. all the changes in my life, my heart is getting cold.
Once there was a beauty, now wrinkles take the place. you no longer have that glow, that once showed in your face.
The color in your hair, has started turning gray. you find out that your figure, just gets bigger every day.
You lose all your mobility, things you can't seem to do. all of the aches and pains, is all that does rule you.
you're at risk for heart attacks, cancer, sugar, even strokes. so many doctor visits, all the gauging and the pokes.
Then you come to a point, you can't get out of bed. and the thought of dying, is running through your head....

Growing old ain't so bad .... I'm 60 and I had a lot of fun getting here. The bad things about getting to this age is the hits, bangs, cuts, and scrapes it took to get here. Then you come to that point that you realize it was worth it ....but, you wouldn't wanna' go thru it again. Write on .... you hit the mark on this poem, david |
