You Tried

A slow backout blur An "I just want to see you" Took a rug out from under us To see our strings That could never make me dance
I walked away, not from you But wanted you to want me back A visitor in house, never mine Now it will never be
Why did it come to this? For you to know courage To dare, to defy, to hold back The flood of doubt That would've washed away The mountain of me now Follow me
I cannot make you Horse to water, water to wine Once you had eyes opened Now been sleeping for countless years Longer than I've lived
Must awaken without a kiss To own undoing A Hegel hug, we all had to become What we feared most sometime Just synthesis it all away
I can't be your Jesus, your Moses I can't be your glue or duct tape I can't be your live-in sheep Your torture device test dummy
But I cannot disown you, A mother just not right But you tried You tried

Dear friend, this was so painful to read. In all of
your work, I feel this wonderful flow of emotion
and perfectly worded expression. Even when as
melancholy as this. It's heartbreaking. Maybe
because I relate so well. Well done, C.
Exceptional writing! -- Achelois
