Clock of Broken Dreams

Contributed by unknownlegend on Thursday, 6th May 2010 @ 10:19:05 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Half past to forever... 20 til for never
quarter after someday ...... never seeing one day
what the cost of yesterday
ever louder so it seems
ticks this clock of broken dreams

It always seemed to be too fast
the minutes seemed to never last
the hours oh they flew so fast
ever faster so it seems
ticks this clock of broken dreams

you thought it really running fine
this clock it seems you never wind
maybe just .... one of a kind
ever ticking so it seems
ticks this clock of broken dreams

Then it seems one day you find
you may be running out of time
so this clock you must rewind
ever quicker so it seems
ticks this clock of broken dreams

But the key cannot be found
you're ever mindful of the sound
never again to be rewound
ever quieter so it seems
ticks this clock of broken dreams

Some will never see the truth
the key it seems was lost with youth
ever silent so it seems
ticks this clock of long lost dreams

Tic..........toc Tic...............toc Tic............................................

Most people who read this poem tell me that they picked up the pace as they read it ..... did it have that affect on you?
