Memories and false hope

you fill this room
memories adorn every item
the most distant still connected
each word you wrote
embedding the knives deeper
every card, every photo
drag me over the coals
the devastation searing my flesh
etching the vivid pictures of this lost love
there is no escape for the abandoned
as I live in those moments
with the ghost of you
the music drowns out the world
only to prove a demonic soundtrack
notes and lyrics, perfectly matching
to the forgotten world in which I dwell
dance with me, false love
