A Memoir of a Vampire, “ Crimson Love is My Only Company in Eternity”

A Memoir of a Vampire, Crimson Love is My Only Company in Eternity

I smell it,
My nostrils flare,
The smell is so enticing,
My fangs elongate,
They have a dull, pounding ache,
My breath shortens,
My heart quickens with excitement.

You took the dagger,
And pierced your own vein,
How, How did you know what I am?
I hide it so well,
Im starting to shake with need,
You laugh with such wicked pleasure,
I could kill you, here and now,
I could just rip out your throat,
I tell you this,
You say you already know,
And you say you know I wont.

I close my eyes,
Savoring the scent,
Trying to keep control,
Ive kept myself weak,
Just for this reason,
In case this happened.

A drop touches my lips,
I touch my tongue to it,
A fire of need springs up within me,
Pure ecstasy runs through my veins.

An internal fight starts within me,
Do I drink or not?
I want the pleasure you get from this,
He says this without knowing that its really a curse,
He starts to plead,
Asking for this curse,
I want to tell him the dangers,
But the scent of crimson love is overpowering,
I cant resist it,
Nor can I resist the thought of eternity,
An eternity with him,
To no longer be lonely.

I whimper in compliance,
He puts one hand behind my neck,
The other on my lower back,
He lifts me to the cut on his neck,
The scent is an explosion,
Of a taste of deliciousness in the air,
I kiss his human neck one last time.

I latch on,
I drink his death,
Enjoying every wonderful mouthful,
Finally, I bite, injecting my poison,
I lick the wound sealing it,
Now I wait, I wait for his screams,
Because this curse starts with agony,
Agony that never ends,
I sit and listen to his screams,
Waiting for them to end,
So together we can be for eternity,
With nothing but a curse of Crimson Love for company.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
