My outlet of expression is the pen and pad
I could express when I'm feeling angry of sad
Say what I need to say to get my point across
Tell others how to deal with insecurities and flaws
Every verse written convays a message
To help us understand some of life's lessons
Or gives help in making a tough decision
I'm not limited with words to express myself
I speak the truth and reject the filth
Which the world is covered in
I choose to rise above and not give into sin
I want to be different I don't follow the machine
I have a higher calling not focused on pipe dreams
To get rich or die trying is not why I breathe
Change is needed in these turbulent times
We need more radical thinkers to rise
To help rescue this generation from demise
The way you express yourself make you unique
From the way you walk to how you speak
What method will you use to express yourself
What ever method it is let your presence be felt
As for me
I will continue with poetry
Leave my mark on the world by planting a seed
Of enlightenment the search for knowledge is key
I just ask that people continue to grow
Don't use your gifts to put on a show
Express yourself with whatever you can
My canvas and brush will continue to be the pen and pad
