PATH OF TRUTH

PATH OF TRUTH

likened to people the trees
they stand back afraid to seize,
a different path, the path of truth
solidly rooted comfortable untruth'

path of truth is walked by few.
a path less traveled to accrue
indecisive, compromise, no solid stand.
peer pressure, tough forest, woodland.

integrity keepers found on path,
steadily straight, no deviating bypath.
true to themselves and complete,
honesty, sincerity, moral, no deceit.

trustworthy, genuine, rectitude
unimpaired, uprightness n'er seclude
the path of truth today is foggy
no Consciences--Gone is integrity!

Created truthfully:
with the help of my poet
friend, "Fish".........the first
stanza is his.......thank you so
much Fish, for your kind assist.

"Write till your ink be dry, and with your tears
Moist it again, and frame some feeling line
That may discover such integrity."

What a fine dedication to your friend and a great declaration of living as true to yourself and complete what better way to live,to put the icing on the cake quoting also my favourite poet a beautiful quote, altogether challenging and strong.

the truth in men todays is subdued
that strife to uphold truth is a weakness
poverty and pain men tag undue
we rather white-paint lies' bitterness
your poem carries heart felt disgust
for wickedness and things that're unjust.
how many men could, like your friend, be
when we think of self and nothing else see.
i found your first stanza a bid hard to digest
if asked, a rearrangement i will suggest.
'likened to people the trees
they stand back afraid to seize,
a different path, the path of truth
solidly rooted comfortable untruth'
from your poem these lines i did extract
in the form they were and exact
'likened to people, the trees
stand back afraid to seize
a different path, the path of truth.
solidly and comfortably rooted in untruth'
i wish the lines may be like this
but the arrangement and poem yours it is.
i hope you will see my view
like a friend's to you.
may God see your friend through
in all that he will henceforth do

Dear Fish, what a sweet friend to me
You love me enough to help me see:

'likened to people, the trees
stand back afraid to seize
a different path, the path of truth.
solidly and comfortably rooted in untruth'

I stewed over that first stanza for over a week.
and with just a little love and patience, you helped me to be very meek. I thank you, thank you, thank you.
I shall change it right away...........

Warm love,
consue

Hi Connie,

The friend to whom your poem is dedicated,
has my admiration. So comforting to know
that there are still many whose heart and mind
is not for sale.

Well written, C.

Tommy
