Black and White Gown

Contributed by hanasuru on Monday, 31st May 2010 @ 12:29:40 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

She looks gorgeous in black and white
But her marriage to death
fills no emptiness
A selfish lover who only takes
and can never be satisfied
Decided long ago before she was born
When her mother met the man
who'd be her father
Who'd press into his daughter's mind
the person she was made for
The groom waiting in his black tuxedo
Smiling as they are wed together
Overjoyed from the thoughts
of her father walking her down the aisle
hand in hand to the altar
where he'd seen others wed before
the magnificence of the moment overwhelms her
as the priest reads from the Word
and the crowd gazes to see fulfilled
what they'd been waiting for
He pulls her close and places on her lips
the kiss he was so famous for
As the crowd watches their union be finalized
tears of relief stream down her face
For her loneliness could now end
