I found meaning, today. . .

Contributed by elle on Wednesday, 9th June 2010 @ 10:58:44 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

I found meaning, today. . .
on the edge of a maze, near the end
of a humming-bird encore.
flirting with dyslexic fragility, my deepest
cuts whispered emotional red tape,
"kiss it. . . to make it better"
but kisses fade, spreading propaganda
. . . the disjointed way we spoke, transcended surfaces
floating through the colourful morning
to places where we kept our hearts.
I scribbled vague tangents, in a notebook. . .
barefoot tendencies, piggyback rides, tears
that never fell, distilled into a typographical world
& 25 thoughts concerning lists & how they get lost.
a tribute to flying away, became elements of how you said it.
so far away, became a house, expanding after noon
a thousand words, became a mantra, seeking love
breathing. . . all art is life.
bytes in motion, inspired portraits of space & time.
I felt the composition breaking, inelegant like late-night, drunk texting
a vendetta dance eroded into fearless, complicated suicide
left last year in reverse, anorexic, small & passing
left love sketching flawless children smiling
. . . free from the backlash of our cold, uniform choosing
a burning, little world. . . encountered infinity. . .
pooled into consideration. . .
warned, one year later, by traces of me finding you. . . lost. . .
emulous of legs & sweet things that are born of delight
sleeping in revenge, enertia in pastels patterns
zen painted an old lover, a butterfly that followed me home
emphasis on arms out stretched,
brief interludes of imagining your ghost. . .
moving like a beautiful evening, in the distance
looking like a timeless impression,
glittering nude, in a chair, next to night fall
while sunlight freckles another part of the planet
charcoal pulls from my fingertips, the sulk
that friendly fire you shot my way, to get your way
afraid of favors, you dance 700 steps
sideways in your mind, you wind up
ballerinas outside the window, in the pale moonlight
I kiss the dust, from the arch above your eye
& lips find peace, crouching above sad orbs.
where'd you go? you're my ersatz razor charm
you're my erotic, line-drawn stick
you're just like me, in the darkness, a study
of anti-watching, red-eyed
a posterboy for lip-service
nine weeks laid-out, in detailed muteness
not so special arrival of confusion, in the corners
of the mouth
in a too close to focus, kind of way
flower boy. . . you were my weakness
untidy baby, never quite poetic.
forgetful pause, why do I cry ashes & slipping
with wings, dream holes in star books
once again, discover like dying or leaving
despite everything, bookmark empty spaces,
thought I'd never get over your buttonmaker hands,
broken. . . broken. . . still. . . drawing little dreams, in pencil, at a glance.

This myriad maze of spontaneous poetic combustion!!! Holy heck...and I haven't even had time to really read your other stuff...you are so on a role! Smile!
