Rosy Petals

Serenity flowed down a pink river
rose petals were scattered every where,
A loner sat upstream with a rose in hand
He spent minutes reciting these words,
'She loves me, she loves me...'
A love sick fool clinging to fantasy,
I smiled as his actions reminded me
Age is a mere entity of the mind,
but the heart remains young as each memory.
I wandered further down in the rose petals path
The sky yawned...I paused watching
the winter sun resembling a burnt out flare,
The signal for day had faded in time,
The river still remained shallow kilometers down.
Nature's choir sang lively in the night
The Luna rays lit up the rose petals,
an exquisite red glow was my night light
I wandered in the river till depths grew
until the pink lost it's pearl coated shine
blending with a mystic blue.
Where was I going?
What was it I pursued?
My mind was lost in mystery,
yet my heart yearned for this adventure,
It sensed a treasure lied at the bottom
one which worldly riches failed to measure.
A celestial breeze soon ran along my face
It ran by with such a tender sweet hum
My sense glowed against it's embrace
My doubts faded and fears became numb.
I finally reached the end of this mysterious stream
And standing tall there you were.
Your shining hope lead me down this path
and guided by your friendship
A new found bliss did occur.
