Where Do You Fit In?

Contributed by thebadguy9999 on Monday, 5th July 2010 @ 04:12:44 PM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

I was locked away in prison,Why didn't you come see me?
You knew that I was starving,Why did you not feed me?
You just walk on while I was dying,Why didn't you rescue me?
You saw my heart was hurting,Why did you not comfort me?
You knew that I needed shoes,You've seen the bruises on my feet.
You saw that I was tired but still you offered my no seat.
You saw that I was thirsty,Why didn't you offer me a drink?
I thought Christians were loving,This makes me stop and think.
Who can I turn to,Is there no one I can trust?
I thought Gods people cared but they left me in the dust.
I lay awake at night and scream Lord, send someone to save me.
Is there anyone who cares, not one act of love's been shown to me.
I was walking down the road and a Christian passed me on the street.
This person knew me and still left me walking in this heat.
Lord,I need your guidance,I am tired and all alone.
I am calling out for help but for me there's no one home.
I know you said you love me,Why do your people not try to help?
Do they not care that I am hot and that I haven't slept?
Lord,I know that you love me,You Word tells me that you care.
The people from the church only laugh at me and stare.
If this is what a Christian does,I'll do better on my own.
Is there any one to cry for me,Who will miss me when I'm gone.
Lord,I know you're up there.Please give my a sign.
God told me,Son the ones you have met are not truly mine.
I love you very dearly and my true soldiers,They do too.
Do not give up hope,I am sending them for you.
There are a lot of people who bow and call me king.
When it comes to helping others they stand and do nothing.
I am a God of love and my true people do love you.
Whenever they just walk on by to me they are not true.
Religion has corrupted way too many hearts and minds
That's why lost souls stay lost, for they were never really mine.
Go back to you Bible, all you self-proclaimed Christians.
Test yourself against Gods word,Tell me Where do you fit in?

Dear BadGuy9999,
You poem was heartwrenching, and so sad!
I wish I knew where you lived, I'd apply God's word and try to make you glad!!!
If Christ walked the earth today, he would help you on your way.........and those of us who love him, and want to walk in his steps each day........should do just that, help you in everyway!
I'm so sorry.
Warm love
consue

Powerful poem. It is very true. Many people think institutions of religion make good people, but the Bible is where the truth is. I hope you find some good people out there who share your beliefs about God. Nicely written! I could feel your pain.
