Copper Voice, Golden Heart

Topic: InspirationalPoems

Bliss we are in your arrival,
Rivers of Venus; ensure our survival.

Parched shores of this destitute land,
Bring your love, where feet touch sand.

Visions of you in distant dreams,
This island, an offering to receive your streams.

The pride of the solitary sun,
Our eternal example for all things done.

Glorious in omnipotent independence,
We toiled in vain,
To covet the mystery of your transcendence.

If only to embody your power,
Joyful would be spent each hour.

Drink we did the waters of life,
Till all was dry from sweat of strife.

Receding tides in complacent eyes,
Unable to warn through the fog of lies.

Insignificant is the rest,
When hardened hearts are set upon the best.

Freedom of independence is our cry,
All the while, memories of you left to die.

Forgive us now, mother of sympathy,
Send your compassion, wrapped in epiphany.

Desperate, the sun mourns his bride,
We see now, your place at his side.

Wash again your love to needful shores,
Empower us again; hear our implores.

As we stand now, naked and humbled,
Beneath our feet,
Our monuments, broken and crumbled.

Open arms with lessons learned,
A life of sanctity, we have painfully earned.

A place in our hearts have we prepared,
Where your infallible love can be shared.

Over the horizon, a dove heralds your merciful advance,
Thank you Venus,
For this second chance.
