ARISE

ARISE
Some days the air seems heavy,
It pulls my spirit down.
Its hard to draw the breath of life
And not to gasp a sound.

The morning air is stagnant.
My head throbs with pain.
I wonder how long til night comes,
This feeling, my existences bain.

I rise because we all do.
I breathe because of need.
I scream aloud on the inside,
I prepare to live out the deed.

I have a feeling of sadness.
My losses are too weighty to bear,
It opens the door to madness,
I think of the hurts that snare.

There is always change in the evening,
A coolness and movement of air.
Life came and went in the daytime.
I found things that show I care.

There is one thing to take hold of.
Not a mystery, secret, obscure.
It was in my heart to begin with,
I find it there for sure.

Its quiet and unassuming,
Often buried under fare and fret.
I need to spend time to look inward.
An exercise I would not regret.

HOPE can be small and or shadowed.
My heart should open that first.
How different the day be unfolding,
If for that gift of HOPE I would thirst.

HOPE whispers peace and clarity.
It laughs never gasping for breath.
It weeps with cleansing and washing.
It promises both life and death.

When I awake in the morning,
I will search in the tiniest place,
I will find the HOPE that HE gave me,
Then look up to gaze on HIS face!

Hope is the only proof of ones purpose. I like it.
