Hey Mommy, look at the picture I drew
I used almost all of the crayons but two
Not now my sweet darling Ill see later on
Dont cry its not like I will ever be gone

Hey mommy, please look at the flower I found
Its your favorite color the petals are round
Not now my sweet baby im trying to read
Dont cry baby girl we have all that we need

Hey mommy, look at the cloud in the sky
It looks just like you with your beautiful eyes
Not now honey please you must now go away
dont cry hun I know we wont run out of days

Hey mommy, I need you to hold me im sick
I was bit by a spider I poked with a stick
Oh baby sweet baby why did you not tell me
I thought if I left you alone you would love me

Oh baby I love you now dont you believe me
Of course I do mommy but now I feel sleepy
I made you this box and I filled it up too
I didnt have money but still its for you

I put dad's old watches he said that I could
Mom do you like it I knew that you would
Mommy I thought if I gave you more time
You would have plenty and some could be mine

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
