Happy Endings

Contributed by desolantdreamer on Wednesday, 14th July 2010 @ 12:07:44 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

A simple glance led to a bright smile
You had me walking on air
Dancing with the stars that sparkled down on us
Laughs and memories and amazing feelings
Like a fairytale story
You made me feel something I've never felt
From a simple touch my body was set on fire
But the weekend came to a close and sad goodbyes were said
Wishing on all the stars in the sky wont help us now
Miles seperate us, and lessons learned before say don't try
But that's not who I am
And I can't ignore the longing feeling
I'm a helpless slave to my own heart
And while my head says no, my heart says yes
So, like a fool, I say the words I shouldn't have
And with a sad smile I reap the reward of my stupidity
An awkward pause and a pathetic excuse
Followed by silence so loud it could shatter my soul
We just met, but in those hours I prayed the sun would never rise
And with the pre-dawn light my heart broke in realization that I was living a dream
Morning ment waking up, and leaving
I watch the stars with a hollow smile and hold back the tears
All that can be done is to enjoy the memories we made those two short days
Because I know all to well
That there are no happy endings here...
