It's in the air, it's on the ground
It's in the trees, it's all around
A kiss covered by the deep dark of night
A brand new toy under Christmas lights
A forbidden song sung by paramours
A touch that they secretly adore
A fight obscured by curtains in a room
Unspeakable anger hidden by gloom
A ghost, it is, silently stalks
Clattering, ripping, tearing up hearts
It clings to your throat, brings its fire in your eyes
As it sits back contently, planning its demise
Sometimes you will hear its scraggly voice
It's as quiet as the wind's noise
It's not rambuntious, bouyant, or zealous
But when you hear it, it's sure to ask:
"Jealous?"
