A Butterfly's Kiss

Contributed by ravenblack_phoenix on Thursday, 17th April 2003 @ 06:35:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

The apple tree weeps,
A butterflys kiss,
Sweet torture of love,
A caress of endless bliss.
I have yet to surrender,
Though my dreams, thoughts, my breath is consumed by you,
Skin so close to mine,
Though I long, I cannot touch you.
My heart sings, cries, screams,
Shattered tears for reflections of you...
Dreams so sweet,
So tender,
Yet they leave me cold and empty,
Longing let to linger in my waking hours,
Sleep, fade back to me....
But yet, I am even afraid to dream...
For I have yet to surrender,
Though my thoughts, dreams, my very breath is consumed by you,
Beautifully haunting, like the sad song of some mysterious bird....
But a life of pain makes it difficult,
Do you see me?
Are you real...?
Or are you truly just a dream...
Because I thought I could no longer love,
I was taught to hide,
A chain and lock around my heart.
How did you find the key?
Your methods of healing me...
I am lost for words, but you do see me,
Deep within, naked and vulnerable,
The key fit, and now my lessons, slowly, become unlearned...
But I have yet to surrender, my love,
Though my breath, thoughts, and dreams are consumed by you...
The essence of you,
The essence of love,
Breathe deeply, I tell myself,
Dive head first into the lake.
I wish to drown...
Enveloped by your arms,
To love you completely,
To drink you in like a sweet nectar,
To bathe within the waters of your flesh,
Or to breathe you in like the melodic mountain air...
I do love you, with all of my tattered and unworthy heart,
But I fear to surrender,
Though my dreams, thoughts, my breath is consumed by you...
I have yet to surrender...
