The End

Topic: LovePoetry

I wrote this in 2008 way before my "first poem" titled "My World" ... I wrote this poem for a girl I liked (before I met my lovebug) which I gave to said girl and hoping she would like me back... This is a long poem, but I promise you it's a good one...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Can you believe
It's only been a year
Since I first met you
As time disappears

I go back to the time
When we first met
Didn't know who you were
I made a bet

I bet myself
To walk over to you
Just to say hi
And you gave me the shoe

Several days after that
I tried again
You opened up the door
And you let me in

You told me some things
About your life
How your mom had died
I didn't know what it's like

Sometimes I would joke
You'd get mad and cry
I'd say I forgot
As I Looked in your eyes

You'd pushed me away
Continued to cry
I knew I shouldn't of
Looked in your eyes

What was minutes to me
Was seconds to you
No matter how long
I thought it was true

So lets flash forward
A boy just broke your heart
I could tell from your eyes
He tore you apart

When I saw you crying
I thought I could help
So I told you a story
About myself

I said in my life
I've gone through some bad times
Sometimes I get through it
Through the course of time

These things will happen
If you like it or not
I learn to get through it
And love what I got

My story seemed to make you
Happy inside
But I could see in your eyes
You still want to cry

So I gave you some space
And some time to think
To get rid of the pain
To let it all shrink

My story seemed to help
Well, more than I thought
Cause now we are friends
But I liked you alot

So I gave it a week
Before I would ask
You the question
I was too afraid to ask

But I wound up the nerve
To ask you that day
But it took me a bit
To find out the way

We walked for a bit
I was talking to you
About someone I liked
Someone we both knew

It took you a while
To figure it out
Then it got quiet
With the moment of doubt

You said that you liked me
But not in that way
I just want to be friends
If that is okay

I said that it's cool
Didn't say what I meant
Because I still liked you
More than I could rent

Lets flash threw the year
We certainly grew up
You got a new boy
And I still get beat up

That the words "I liked"
Has grown up to "I love"
To where I would be there
When push comes to shove

I always feel strange
When ever your around
It almost feels like
I am about to drown

I think that it's because
I love you alot
Even more than you think
So what is the plot

Just please don't read this
And feel sorry for me
And dump your boyfriend
And come running to me

If you want to you can
Don't do it for me
Do it for yourself
Or who you want to see

But I want you to know
I'm fine with just friends
As long as we are
Until the very

END!!!

This is a really cute "boy meets girl" story. My favorite part:

"Lets flash threw the year
We certainly grew up
You got a new boy
And I still get beat up

That the words "I liked"
Has grown up to "I love"
To where I would be there
When push comes to shove"

Especially, "I still get beat up." It shows how much you really care for this person without actually saying it. Gave me goosebumps.
