The Seasons of Parenthood
Cherry-stained lips drip sugared bliss on the boiling pavement Wiped clean by Mothers who care Empty bellies scream in retaliation Ignored by fathers not there
College savings thoughtfully tucked away By slaves who toil for years Ragged backpacks, dingy sneakers Schooldays muddled by tears
Snowy memories neath a sparkling spruce Christmas lists fulfilled Empty stockings, empty hearts No hope for dreams to build
Happily-ever-after fairytales read From dusty pages from which they are freed Television educates For children who cannot read

This is amazing. It tells how great things should be... but breaks down the truths behind the sad reality. :/
I enjoyed this greatly.
