When You Go

My fingertips still retain the last touch of you My eyes keep the imprint of your last look. My arms feel the emptiness of where you just were My heart beats more insistent than a sharply closed book.
All of my senses remain stirred by you, alive The scent of you lingers and I breathe it in deep. My mind commits to memory as much of you as possible When you go I hunger and inside I weep.
My lips mirror yours as you mouth "I love you" And how much I love you I wish you could know How every fibre within me screams out "please stay" But I stand still and all I can do is watch you go
