It is when I noticed she had begun to cry
I called out her name in a whisper and a sigh
I tried to console her to tend her fear
Deeply in the hope shed call me dear
So I put my arm around her back
And as sharp as a spring I received a whack
In reflex action I pinched her side
From which I thought could turn the tide
Unbeknownst behind me someone stood
It was her husband with a block of wood
I heard a whoosh and ducked real fast
And that your honor is why she wears a cast
