AS I SIT HERE IN MY LATE PARENTS OLD HOME QUIETLY SAD AND SERENE AND ALONE THAT I NOW OWN WITH BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUES AROUND ME AND LISTEN TO BETOVENS MOONLIGHT SONATA WHICH IS VERY SOFT AND WONDERFUL IT FITS THE MOOD OF THIS DAY THATS BEEN DRURY I LOOK OUT TO SEE A FEW PEOPLE SCURY TO GET HOME BEFORE DARK THE MOON SHONES THROUGH THE TREES AS THE BRANCHES BLOW EVER SO SOFTLY IN THE BREEZE AND CAST THEIR LONG SHADOWS ON THE GROUND I WONDER WHAT BETOVEN WAS SEEING AND THINKING WHEN HE WROTE THE BEAUTIFUL SONATA MAYBE THE END OF HIS LIFE IN THE FUTURE OR THE LOSS OF A GREAT LOVED ONE WHAT WAS ON HIS MIND THE SONATA MAKES YOU WANDER BACK IN TIME

I'm glad that Beethoven's work moved you in such a way.
I suppose it's a testament to the fact that some things never date, they are timeless.

The feeling and sensitivity expressed in this beautiful piece of music may well have been written with a sense of loss, Beethoven was a genius and it's great that his music continues to touch people's lives in such a soothing way when they need it to, lovely to read such a heartfelt piece of writing bringing a reminder of the importance of the right piece of music at the right time. |
