You can make all the promises in the world,
Till the day we die, and the truth unfurls,
Sit there and tell me things wont be the same
But I wont stand for this ridiculous game
Shoulder to shoulder, side by side,
Your still there, so dont try to hide.
Run so quickly, as fast as you can,
But this is the truth you must understand
You cannot become another of your own
You are who you are till your skins cold as stone
Do what you will, but just know this,
If it is not you, do not make that promise
These words are here, and here to stay
For you said them now and said them today
What you speak you cant unsay
Now you fight with those words, on this battle array
But said it or not, those words were true
For they are but the description of you
Words you say, words you hide
They are who you are
Deep on the inside
