A Fiery orange leaf ablaze
sizzles.
Slowly its natural flame burns
black.
Crackles scream in the blue heat
withering
what is remaining of its autumn flame.
Shriveled embers dwindle to dust.
autumn ashes
blow dizzily in fall's breath.
Leafy specks invade
my vision.
Fall blurs into the landscape
and bleaches to wintery white.
