Miss Mary, Miss Mary, I bid you adieu I write this in memory of you
Four years have passed, four years have gone, December 11th, 2006 - a tragedy to some
Sickness stole you from our home But sickness never could steal you from our hearts My eyes still tear up remembering how you were just months before you passed You stood strong, trying to impress us Those are times I try and not recall
Instead, I like to think back on your under-cooked eggs, your cluttered house, your laugh and your smile, how you and my Granny couldn't help but always bicker, your little dog and all your trinkets, your unusual fascination of yard sales, your jokes and your stories, and how you were always so full of life and love
It's been said you still linger Perhaps awaiting your sisters and watching over the whole family I love to think you're still here somewhere, that you're not just a memory But in my memory you will always have a place and in my heart and in my soul
You're remembered and loved by all I miss you, and I could only wish that you were here to give me advice, to tell me stories, and just to talk Aunt Mary, please know how much you're presence is missed and how much you're loved
