You look at me with pity
Your eyes tell me youre sad
But Im the single one here
Is single really bad?
I see how hurt he makes you
I see more then you know
But is it really worth it
knowing what you know.
There isnt any passion
The love you had has died
And yes it does get lonely
Ive seen the tears you have cried.
Is single such a worry
why do you choose to stay
with someone who would hurt you
And make you feel this way.
You need to look at yourself
And take the toughest test
And ask the very questions
You hide inside your chest.
Is single really scarey
The thought of being alone
Is it better being beaten
Bruised and broken boned.
It takes alot of courage
To stand up for your life
But Ill be there to help you
Through all the coming strife.
I cannot say that single
Is easy to become
But I would rather single
Then be somebodys drum.

Such a strong and defiant stance on this one, I loved having the privilege of reading how you tackled what is a clearly an emotional subject.
Amazing last two lines that tied the whole thing together
"But I would rather single
Than be somebody's drum"
Have to applaud and agree with your sentiments.

This is an exceptional piece of writing. You ask the question quite openly,' Is being single all that bad?' Well, staying in a relationship because you're scared of being alone is no excuse to stay and get abused. You bring up a great point on this subject. I enjoyed it!
