I'm A Candle

In the darkest hour of the night, I sit alone in candlelight. Staring at the wax dripping down, I look at the candles tear-dropped crown. An inanimate object to somea kindred spirit to me I feel as if my flame will soon flee. My wax is down to a tiny stump; Time will turn me into a lifeless lump. So much do while the flame lingers; Will life escape between my fingers? The darkest minute of the darkest hour I feel the candles magic powers.

There is something magical and mysterious about a flickering light that can cast shadows. The imagery is very well done and creates the mood. Great job!

It really is a joy to read your work, the imagery just leaps out of the page and hits you so powerfully between the eyes.
When you read a poem and then re-read it straightaway, that's proof of its brilliance.
Thanks for sharing
