My Prayer

Contributed by Jilly on Sunday, 20th April 2003 @ 08:35:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Be specific in your prayers
is what God will say
Remember detail each time you pray
Tall, short, fat or thin
List all the qualities you want in him
Loving, kind good nature too
Faithful, loyal, devoted to you
Muscled or scrawny to each their own
God does not want us to be alone
Pray for passages read by firelight
Pray for long walks on moonlit nights
Have him love Cannon in D
Hear me oh God hear my plea
Have him love the poems I write
Let him be full of prophetic insight
I want him to see the world as I do
To have and to hold and forever true
Have him love my precious son
And to give me another for I bore just one
Let him have strong family ties
For family is where true love lies
For these are the qualities I pray you send
In Jesus name I pray. Amen

ok i am not the least religious and in general i find it off putting but in this poem it actually accentuates the passion and desire in the content, an amazing poem, a wonderful read.

Hello again "Sunshine" I loved this one too.
Mind you my ideas about prayer are very different to your own (see my "Prayer can't change the rules") but you are probably right and I am just a "Lost soul"

Apart from all that.... I like reading your poetry. It cheers me up, gives me hope ......(unlike some)
