I sit here and watch explosions in the sky
Thinking of a life left behind
Still memories burn bright
Engulfing my mind like dark clouds to a horizon
The outlook growing ever bleaker
Blue skies nowhere to be seen
As people move and hurry past, I remain
Breathing in the light of a new day
Struggling to understand why things didn't work out
Knowing that although there maybe a reason
It will never comfort me to know it
Yet taking solace in that it comforts you
