What is it that makes words deliciously delectable
For all, and not just the loquacious intellectuals
Letters A to Z alone are hardly thought conceptual
But when combined make abstract realities dissectable
On a human level
Giving voice to once mute feelings
That were boundless- too large to grasp- with no roots or ceilings
This shared ability to express our daily dealings
Allows us to connect with one another, which leads to healing
Word.
Besides shrinking the world to a smaller size
Words can turn simplicity to beauty magnified
Look, I can watch the sunrise
Or likewise gaze at the glowing globule begin its arc to dark demise
Besides the imagery the musician in me likes the way it sounds
When letters flow together by way of tongue and mouth
On this river voice is the current that carries thoughts from north to south
Where at the ocean we meet harmoniously in a choir, no need for gowns
