Grief

Fierce comes the wind, the rain, the sleet and snow, pounding and scratching at the window, Howling for me to let them in. I cry and hide under the covers, wishing the scary shadows would go away; they do not. Still scratching, biting; the wind cursing at the thin sheet of glass, which shows little protection, as I huddle and shutter in terror, because I face, yet again, another daring challenge for rest. The rain brings on his friend lightning into the fight, casting an eire light around my small upstairs bedroom. Even more monsters seem to pop out of nowhere; the lighting letting them in. I scream in terror as I stuff my head under my pillow, shouting Go away! Leave me alone! I stare at my small alarm clock. It casts an evil red glow as the lighting receeds, thinking he has won, but he has not. Sleet takes his place. Her combination of water and ice seem to shiver me even more into restless, tossing and turning every which-way with the help of her friend Wind. As I sit there, shivering and hugging myself for the little warmth that I have left, my shutters break open, and out reaches Snow, ready to take me away into the darkness, into the cold, outskirts of what ever lies behind my now shattered protector. I struggle to hold on to the bed, grasping onto anything I can, as I scream for help. With one last tug, they have me, and Im suddenly pulled away to the outer darkness of my sub-concious mind. Its then, when I suddenly wake up with the sun I my eyes, and the birds chirping. Finally, morning has arrived. I am free, until nightfall comes again.

This is a good one. I felt like this when I was younger but now I love and enjoy the lighting, rain, thunder, snow, and the night. |
