Just the Beginning

Contributed by ginsdance on Friday, 2nd August 2002 @ 08:41:54 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Morning glory in my hair,
Scared to death, standing there,
Looking at myself all in white,
Wondering if I'm doing this right...
Watching my friends and family start to arrive,
This is really it! Not a dream! I'm a bride!
The veil covering my face,
Staring at myself, my heart starts to race,
Is this it? Am I really sure?
Ready to walk down the aisle? Love endures?
Then I look down and see my engagement ring
That has "I Love You" engraved so beautifully,
And suddenly I know this is real, know it will last,
I've just been standing here letting moments pass.
Then it's time... and time's been moving so slow,
I can actually feel my parents letting go.
And he's suddenly there, staring at me in awe,
As my heart answers his heart's silent call.
Hands joined as we both say "I do"
Then he kisses me at the ministers cue.
Then turning around as man and wife,
I know this is just the beginning of the rest of my life.
