I sit alone in selfish pride
with all the tear drops I have cried
some things never seemed to change
as I went on with my blaming game
pointing my finger at all the hurt
caused by others
so cruel and so curt
I closed my heart
put up my walls
shut down feelings
and numbed to it all
as time went by I started to see
that all the pain
came from me
please come back I cried out to them
but their hearts once damaged
were finally to mend
they wanted no more to be cast off by me
they had enough
their souls were now free
I know now
I was not forsaken by them
the man abandoned
was abandoned by me
