golden slumber
safe and secure
the morning beckons
promising pain once more
Ill open my eyes
and there they will be
my demons waiting
punishing me
speaking in words
too soft to hear
bringing me pain
heartache and tear
taunting my flaws
stabbing my soul
whispering voices
horrid and cold
I hide inside
in shame and fear
pushing away those
I hold so dear
I want to holler
just let me be
golden slumber
a safe place to be
