There is always a difference in the quality of air after the rain has decided to stop. The air becomes thinker and moist, your limbs feel heavy and different. There is a soft fragrance that you would expect to come from a 1960s TV mom. Life at that point is complete, for there is no pain, or worry, just plain old bliss.
Water is still escaping from the wrinkles that form the identity of leafs; there is an unseen internal struggle between the leaf and the water. The leaf trying to hold the water closes as possible, so it will have support and not be lonely. Ware as the water is forever moving with freewill, eventually breaking the will of the leaf and falling to the ground, to be born once again.
The piercing sun will always dissolve the static gray clouds, which fill the soul with gloom. This is one of the few absolute truths of the world, one which none can defy. Many will ignore this fact for personal gain, but in the end they will just fall into the earth just the same. All that can be done is to watch and wait for the next rain to come.

That was very refreshing. I enjoyed the perspective about water and the leaf. I also love the rain. I even wrote a poem about it. :) An uplifting piece, reminding us all that the sun will always come again to pierce the gloom. |
