Di Whole Distance.

Topic: InspirationalPoems

Di whole distance mi ah walk
Mi ah walk di whole distance, man
Over there, some people ah run, dem ah run like Usain Bolt; dem have talent
There some people ah drive, dem ah drive 'cos dem have cars; dem have moni
Bloodclot, mi even see some people ah fly, dem ah fly 'cos dem have wings; dem have feathers
And also, mi see some people ah claim dem ah walk, kiss mi teet
Dem cuda walk but dem bend and dem cut corners, so dem walk ah crooked
Dem ways ah crooked
Jah, dem whole life ah rasclot crooked
But I, Rasta, with mi two legs mi ah walk
Mi ah walk up and man, if mi nuh walk right
'Pon dat straight and narrow mi ah walk
Mi ah walk swiftly 'cos time ah wait for nobody, yuh know?
Even when mi bones ah weak, mi walk
Sometimes, mi cudah walk slow but bredren, yuh never wudah see me moan
Yuh never wudah see me moan
Mi ah walk till mi reach mi destination
Mi ah walk till mi left Babylon
If mi nuh walk till mi feet ah touch Zion
Even if yuh cut mi legs mi ah crawl
Mi ah crawl hard inna di dirt
Mi ah wiggle
Mi ah make bloodclot sure mi left mi mark 'pon dis earth
Mi ah make sure yuh never cuda erase dem
Mi ah make sure di whole world cudah trace mi steps
Even tho' mi past nuh pretty like mi face, mi stll ah left mi rasclot trace
Mi ah left mi trace 'cos mi nuh waan di youths a do di same mistakes mi do
But dem, dem ah run b'cos dem nuh fit ah walk
Dem ah drive 'cos dem nuh fit ah walk
Dem ah fly 'cos dem nuh fit ah walk
And dem ah set sail 'cos dem nuh fit ah walk
When yuh walk, yuh left footprints, yuh know?
And by yuh footprints, dem cuda trace yuh
By yuh footprints dem cudah know yuh
By yuh footprints, if dem nuh catch yuh
Di reason why dem nuh fit ah walk ah dat
But Rasta, Rasta ah walk
Inna di night, inna di day mi ah walk
Inna di heat, inna di rain, mi ah walk
When some people, dem destination ah reach and some people outta various reason ah quit, mi ah keep walking
Di whole distance mi ah walk with mi head high
With Jah inna mi heart, mi ah walk di whole bloodclot distance. Selah !
