I stand firm, With this realisation, Won't get ideas, Above my station, I'm thirty five, Your twenty four, I've lived my life, Your starting yours, Eleven long years, Seems such a gulf, Except when with you, When we're one self, I know it's scared you, How could it not, You were so comfortable, At ease with your lot, So for now at least, Friends we must be, I'll take a back seat, Hope in time you will see, Just what's at stake, That time has no bearing, No consequence, With what we've been sharing, These feelings inside, That you've imbued, It's so very rare, It's found to few.
Sensibility renewed, Doubts diffused, Our love ensues.
