we fall in and out
of forgiveness as a concept
and we each break
love
in the afterthought of attachment
(there is no light inside the dark)
wandering down halls of absent years
we straighten picture frames
for no one
there is a therapeutic value
in sweeping steps in the darkness
and scrubbing the walls
of a house no one lives in
anymore
we live lives
we scream
we breathe
we love
we boldly hold tomorrow in the hand of yesterday
and commend ourselves for our originality
laughing like hyenas
with feigned rejoice
can we find a world inside our sanctions
that does not harbour unsolicited emotion?
or are we fated destined targeted
doomed
in this, the loss of our innocence
we sip our satisfaction
from stolen glasses filled to the brim
with programmed response
as melancholy as a cello
breaking through the silence of Christmas lights
but less in the service it delivers
or comfort
it provides
and so it is, we live
to eat and breath and dance
another tomorrow ~

I love that line. it has a resonance of eternity in it....its as if you've captured Time itself in those words...I can almost hear echoes... |

Breezy,
I could never tire of reading your work. Wonderful
thought-provoking sentiments, so intelligently
compiled - yet I feel that you can pen your verses
in time and regulation with your breathing.

Thank you for always coming back. Even if you do not post something new yourself, you are always a beacon of light.
This is at once an empty house and a soft flame flickering in the night. A beginning and an end. Yesterday and tomorrow, those hapless lovers of opposition and endless letdown. Forever doomed by their mere description.
Stay in today. Only today can be bent and manipulated into something special. Yesterday is forever gone, and tomorrow may never come.
