Cursed of Strength

Contributed by AStepFromTheEdge on Tuesday, 25th January 2011 @ 12:34:29 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Despite the hope in tomorrow
Ill never fall like that again
Every empty promise
Was another scar you dug in
An angel with her talk of heaven
Soon left me for dead
And as I layed there dying
Visions of hell filled my head

You justify the blame on me
Finger pointed before the fall
If Words are your weapon
Silance was my only flaw

You stare as my heart catches fire
Embers burn away any chance at love
Still I'm cursed with enough strength
To truely hate who I've become

You lash your tongue so beautifuly
With words that cut right through to me
And the scars they still sting
Like juliet who wouldn't die for romeo
This story just doesn't end well
All the holes you left will never be filled

You stare as my heart catches fire
Embers burn away any chance at love
Still I'm cursed with enough strength
To truely hate who I've become

I hate what I've become

On path of tattered hearts
You were there beside me
To insure my fall
Eager to abandon
And hold on to every flaw

Very well written, I really like the word choices and the way the piece flows. Excellent poem your feelings came across well

Very emotional full of pain and anguish. I have read that only poets can benefit from a broken heart. You have expressed your feelings openly.
