The Breakdown

Contributed by The_unknown on Wednesday, 2nd February 2011 @ 09:20:57 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

I never wanted to show it
My monster inside
It's a murder machine
It's the thoughts in my head
That tell me, "do it,
They don't care anyway.
They never did."
I've known it was a lie all along
But if you believe in something long enough
It will become true
And my time is coming

Inside something is crying
And screaming
No monster, just its pet
Mentally and physically abused
There is shame in it

And I'm backed up in a corner
On the edge of the universe inside my head
Step any further and I'll be dead
But that's what it wants
My monster

So I'm on my knees
Facing all of my worst fears
But I did it to myself
And I couldn't ask for help

This is deep and rather frightening. You describe your situation perfectly and it sends the hairs on my neck arising. This is very well thought out and brilliantly written. Well done.

i can relate to this probably more than any other poem i've ever read...honestly. it's very difficult to describe that turmoil inside, but you've done it well here. it's as if a constant battle takes place, but no one can help u because it's your own battle u must confront, and perhaps end. what i like most is the darkness you've emitted out of it. well done

take care
