dreaming of my soldier

i lay here alone as i think of him. i could
feel him as he lays next to me. kissing the
back of my neck my heart races. his touch
makes my body numb. could it be that he
is here with me? knowing i long for his love.
the days that he has been gone my heart
shatters not knowing if he is safe. i can smell
the gun powder on his cloths and the sweat
from the heat. is the war over? finally i get to
tell him how much he means to me after not
talking to him for a long time. the feeling of him
being here takes pressure off my stress. i could
hear the birds chirping and the sun is bright. i
sat up in my bed to look and see if he was around
and i know now that my thoughts turned in to a
dream. another day wishing that my soldier would
come home.
