If I said I love you
would it really matter?
Those words are said too many times
they couldn't really shatter
defences round a heart
that has often suffered siege
falling for a scoundrel
temporarily in liege
well love it is a door
that slams or opens wide
our choices are sometimes perverse
influenced by pride
well I shall say I love you
and you can disagree
for in love I am a victim
as I bend down on one knee
and I don't care the answer
as long as you believe
that what you say is honest
as long as you do breath
