Snatches of conversation, a line or a word
Too many emotions, thoughts go unheard.
Whispers of I Love You and hanging up the phone
Knowing without saying that were feeling so alone.
The days are dragging, the nights are too
Every spare moment I find myself thinking of you.
Wonder what youre up to, whether youre okay
Wonder if youre safe and how goes your day.
I look for ways to make the time pass by
Yet seconds feel like hours however hard I try.
And, I find, Im once again alone
I curl up tight and wish that you were home.
I dont understand it, Im usually fine,
Used to spending months alone at a time.
Yet theres something about you, youre under my skin
Slipped through my defences and found a way in.
I love you, I miss you, and I wish you were here,
To hold you, to feel you, to know that youre near.
I wish I could tell you the thoughts in my head
And I wish I wasnt lying alone in our bed.
